About 20 years ago I developed a liking for the classic glamor portrait. Back then I even shot a few rolls from my trusty Pentax (long since retired) of several trusting female friends. While these images will never see the light of day here (promises made then are promises kept now), it was fun, a little sexy, and sort of a confidence builder. This has evolved over time into more fetish-oriented themes. So I studied photographic techniques (still using the Pentax) and browsed the (then) new Web and various movie genres’ (horror; thrillers; fantasy; and adult stuff) to get ideas. But I never had the time to invest in what can be a resource hog.
After the development of many film editing software products in the 1990’s and thereafter, I then started enhancing and refining images.
Since retiring a couple of years ago, I finally found the time to purchase and train on a digital SLR, which to this day still provides some surprises and mysteries. The Canon EOS is a good product so now might be the time to finally create a decent folio. So this summer I’ll pack my bags and travel to a few conventions that provide photo-shoot opportunities and see what I can do.
So, that’s the plan. Meanwhile, any feedback on what is offered here would help me along. Many of the images were taken from several video productions I commissioned from dedicated but small-time operators out there. Others are mostly older images needing some tender loving care and freely available in various forums. Some may be restricted in some way but I have been careful to avoid any property-rights issues. If I failed to do this with any image please let me know. You folks are a helluva lot smarter about this stuff than me.
Finally, I would welcome any suggestions on worthy conventions and shoots out there where a passionate digital beginner would have the best environment to further a hobby and refine techniques. I’ll compensate model shoots at a fair rate and hopefully learn from them as I go along.
Of course, input from anyone out there- models, photographers, digital artists- would be a nice bonus.
That’s it. Thanks for reading.
